Described by a prominent radio dj as being as "tight as a fish's fundaments!" The Mari Jackson Band certainly do not disappoint.

Following the success of their debut cd "MAKIN-AMENZ" released in the summer of 2003, the band are currently working on a collection of original material due for release in july this year. mainly from belfast the band have regular slots in "the rotterdam bar", "hard rock cafe" and "the dirty duck", holywood to name a few.

Performing live on radio and television shows and billed alongside many famous names to date, the band are going from strength to strength with their increasing popularity and are hoping to tour europe in the near future.

Described in "blueprint" magazine as having "raunch, verve and personality" the band consists of

Mari Jackson whose distinctive and powerful voice, often referred to as a "melodic janis joplin", grabs your attention right from the start.

Lou Campbell (ex strutts, & the junkmasters) on guitar and backing vocals,

Laurence Mckeown (ex willie burns, jim gilchrist and brian houston) on drums, and

Davy Neill (ex romeo texas and elvis on tour band) bass and vocals.

The band provide a very listenable set of soul, rhythm and blues, jazz, funk and rock, in a mixture of originals and cover's such as bb king, rollin stones, etta james, tina turner, led zepplin and of course janis joplin!

Promising a dynamic and exciting show this is one gig not to be missed!
